Omega the Unknown #2 (of 10)
Welcome To Hell's Kitchen!
May 31st, 1976
Just as James-Michael is getting settled into his new safe-haven with Amber and Ruth, an encounter with the Hulk causes the awakening of the Unknown - putting James-Michael in serious peril!
The doctors at James-Michael's clinic are suspicious of his scars, and of his seeming unconcern over the death of his parents, but they still release him into the custody of Ruth and Amber. They introduce him to Hell's Kitchen in all its awfulness.
Omega, meanwhile, stops a robbery at a pawn shop run by Gramps. He is shot, and Gramps takes care of him and lets him stay there and do odd jobs.
James-Michael feels a pain in his arm when Omega is shot. The next morning, Amber takes him to get an egg-cream, where they walk past Bruce Banner, who is unconscious and looks homeless.
Some street toughs harass Banner, who turns into the Hulk and starts smashing the shop. Amber takes pictures for the Daily Bugle while James-Michael once again hears "the voices." Omega happens to be nearby and battles the Hulk. Then Elektro, who has been watching Omega since his battle with the robot last issue, intervenes. He blasts the Hulk and Omega, and runs off with the unconscious Omega in a helicopter. James-Michael falls down unconscious at the same time as Omega.
